Wicked Games

April 20, 2023

My latest piece, Wicked Games! A beautiful piece that has playful elements yet has powerful essence of pain and endurance!

Journey

October, 2022

This mural project was a piece I made at the art alley in the crossroads of Kansas City. I went to the alley essentially with no plan but I knew the theme of what I wanted to create. It was my second ever mural project and definitely served as a catalyst of more to come!

Native Woman

December 24, 2022

The Native woman piece was a not made for anything in particular, however, I wanted to challenge myself with implementing more fundamentals of realism with paints, which isn’t something I’m very accustomed to. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful piece and a level up in my creative skills!

Divine Guidance (SOLD)

August 5, 2022

The Divine Guidance project was made specifically to give to a friend of mine during my first art show. While I gave her this project, she had also created something for me in return. It was my first time trading artwork with someone else and it was an amazing and beautiful opportunity!

Dangerous Beauty

July 23, 2022

The Dangerous Beauty Project started after I had finished the commission that I had done for the Dr. Smoke shop earlier this year. The opportunity to do my first project for a business served as a catalyst to a change in perspective towards my art. I began to see a real opportunity for a career to emerge. With that, I began to realize that my actions can be dangerous towards the entropy that lingers within my life. And by manifesting my own future with discipline, passion, and unwavering vision, I can make life beautiful! the3 Dangerous Beauty Project seeks to capture these feelings with design choices that convey fearlessness, wild freedom, and beauty!

Power of the War Chief

May 27, 2022

The power of the War Chief project embodies the strength that a war Chief must maintain in order to be a powerful and protective leader to his tribe while also capturing the beauty of the attire he wears that represents his status among his people. The face of the war Chief has stronger aspects of realism while having sharp and strong shape language in order to capture the war Chief's inner strength. In tandem, the war bonnet he wears has been abstracted using Gregory's unique stylization in order to capture an aesthetically pleasing design that shows sharp, rhythmic, and beautiful shape language while still maintaining a wild look that a war bonnet typically has.

This project was created specifically for the Buttonwood art Space’s Art show “Rhythm and Reveal” and will be on display, and for sale, at their location on Main Street from July 1st until the middle of September.

FireBird; Twin-piece (SOLD)

April 30, 2022

The twin piece to the FirdBird project was a private commission that was done for a close friend of Gregory’s. When Gregory first released photos of the original FireBird project, his friend reached out and said he would like a project similar to it, but to use cheetah/feline eyes instead. So, Gregory got started right away and finished the intitial design back in September of 2021. However, it sat in Gregory’s apartment for several months and eventually he felt that the design was outdated and didn’t show his strengthened capabilities as an artist. So, he designed a new concept that held to the initial guidelines and ended up with what we see now. Overall, the new design better fits Gregory’s personal style and has a far more exciting viewing experience.

Dr. Smoke Commission (SOLD)

March 31, 2022

This project was Gregory’s first commission with a business and quite a monumental project within his artistic journey. The project was done for JC Cirese, the owner of the shop, Dr. Smoke, located at 39th and Broadway in Kansas City. Not only was it exciting for Gregory to get to work with such amazing people who believed in his work, but Gregory decided that his first project for a business should start having an aim towards personal style. Through studying some of his favorite artists and designing a creative process for his work, Gregory sought to create a style of his own in this project that revolves around sharp shape language and linework, and an esthetically pleasing composition that has a Street-art feel to it.

FireBird

August 31, 2021

The Fire Bird project was made during a time in Gregory’s life where he began seeing the power in his imagination and awakening to his true calling as an artist. Taking inspiration from the song Fire Bird by MIYAVI, Gregory used the art theme from the album cover and used his own creative twist to convey a sense of awakening and raw, untamed energy that expressed the feeling that emerged as he began awakening to his more creative side. The project has sharp and and jagged shape language to express a sense of personal freedom and untamed imagination. In tandem, it has vibrant and contrasting colors to represent the strength and beauty of allowing one’s imagination to run wild.

Radioactive Garden (SOLD)

April 27, 2021

The Radioactive Garden project was a private commission and one of Gregory’s first real commissions. The commissioner requested that Gregory design a piece with the idea of a radioactive garden being the theme. When Gregory began to think of what came to mind when he thought of a radioactive garden, he thought of the movie Avatar by James Cameron and the theme of the forest at night on the planet of Pandora. So, he took the colors of the night time theme and designed sci-fi style plants to create what he imagined a radioactive garden would look like. Overall, this was a very experimental project for Gregory and it pushed his mindset to begin viewing his work more professionally.
